A dark larger with a ruby hue, malt chocolate wafer aromatics. Cola and wafer flavours compliment a tantalizing cherry note in the dry, clean finish. The addition of a touch of lactose sugar gives a creamy, yet crispy mouthfeel. Through our connection with Christina at Freehold Brewing, this Charity Brew for the Alberta, was born. For every pint $1 will be donated.
Dedicated to our close friend and first customer, this dark, earthy, and roasty ale is heavily hopped to deliver piney, resinous, dark fruit character. It’s bold, balanced, moderately bitter, and quite handsome, just like our pal.
This third installment of the Extra Special Monk variants is straw coloured and makes use of rare French hops: Mistral and Barbe Rouge to give red berry aromas and flavour. Medium body and bitterness combined with a dry finish help to keep this beer refreshing.
Uncle Buma’s Heritage Ale
This pale, lightly hoppy ale is straw-coloured with moderate haze. The aroma is a combination of bready malt and earthy, herbal hops. It has light-moderate bitterness. The flavor matches the aroma with lightly floral and earthy hops, bready malt punctuated with gentle grain notes. It finishes quite dry. Our accountant’s uncle grew the heritage barley used by Canada Malting to create the malt used in this beer. We lovingly call our accountant Uncle Buma, thus the name for this beer.
This copper ale is made with exclusively English malts and hops. Its aroma has a hint of peat smoke over rich fruity malt. It has low bitterness, and the peat builds lowly in the flavor, with round stone fruit notes in balanced finish. This beer was made for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation for a Brewer for a Day auction. One dollar goes to the Foundation for each beer sold.
This dark ale is deep brown in color, medium-bodied, with a combination of rich chocolate and subtle fruit notes. Dark chocolate blends into raisins, dried cherries, and red currants for a surprisingly dry finish.
This highly-hopped, cloudy wheat ale is a straw color, with aromas of menthol and ripe fruit. It displays medium bitterness, with flavours of banana and herbal mint. It finishes dry, with lingering spicy bitterness. Whoops was a happy accident where our brewers created a hoppy wheat beer instead of the milder beer they had planned because of an unexpected ingredient change.
Our unfiltered wheat beer displays classic banana and spice character, tart, thirst quenching finish and has a round, full body. This beer is formerly known as ZES.
This bright copper lager combines bold stone-fruit notes with complex herbal hopping and balanced bitterness. It finishes dry with lingering herbal and fruit flavors. This beer received a Gold Medal at the 2018 Alberta Brewing Awards.
This ale is characterized by a crisp, bitter finish, emphasized by clean minerality. The spicy malt profile is nicely balanced by a subtle herbal hops flavor.
