Now Hiring – Taproom Server & Cook

Blind Enthusiasm is looking for a food and beverage afficionado to join our taproom team full time. We are in search of a charismatic individual who thrives engaging directly with customers and has experience cooking in a restaurant or café setting. In this customer facing role, you will provide friendly, responsive service to our guests, while also cooking food for the taproom. Our ideal candidate has a passion for our specialty beer, delicious locally sourced foods, and is excited to share their enthusiasm with our patrons! If beer isn’t your area of expertise yet, we are willing to offer detailed training for the right person!

Responsibilities

  • Daily food prep and service, and beverage service
  • Maintaining high service standards and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
  • Be an expert on our beers, stay up to date and have a detailed knowledge of our product offerings
  • Use product expertise to help guide guests in their selections and answer questions about our products
  • Comprehensive execution of opening and closing duties
  • Providing guest feedback to Taproom Manager
  • Some menu development in collaboration with the taproom team
  • Maintaining product quality and food safety standards
  • Following AGLC rules and regulations for liquor service
  • Maintain cleanliness of station/service area at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock checks to maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate with Taproom Manager on food ordering to ensure that food inventory levels align with demand and production.

Required Skills

  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service (Food safety certification training will be provided if not already obtained).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with coworkers and interact with customers.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
  • Physical stamina: ability to lift heavy objects and work on feet for extended lengths of time.
  • Foundational knowledge of beer is an asset but training will be provided.
  • Basic cooking and safe knife handling skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in customer service roles.
  • Experience cooking in a restaurant or café
  • Ability to work flexible hours. 
  • ProServe Certification.
  • First Aid training is an asset.
