Being one of the most awarded breweries at one of the world's most prestigious competitions two years in a row is a huge honour. This year's wins follow up international awards for the previous vintages of Substantially Complete and Spontaneous Manifesto, and bring our total gold medal haul at Concours International de Lyon to seven! Homage To The Old Ones also won gold at the World Beer Cup in 2024 for Belgian-Style Sour Ales.

Spontaneous Manifesto is the Monolith’s quintessential 100% Spontaneous Fermentation beer. Made using historical methods developed in Belgium over generations, the result of these techniques is a unique product shaped by our local environment and indigenous microflora.
This 2023 vintage is the second iteration of Spontaneous Manifesto, scoring 93 at this year's competition. The 2022 vintage also won Bronze at the 2024 World Beer Cup!
Homage to the Old Ones is a very special blend of 4 year Spontaneous Fermentation barrels. Historically brewers would take the brewery’s highest quality barrels to make a blend that would showcase their best product. When scavenging our barrel cellars, the brewers came across barrels that were of such exemplary quality, they knew it would be a perfect homage to such blends.
It’s our only beer (so far) to have won Gold at both the 2024 Concours International de Lyon and World Beer Cup.
The Substantially Complete series is considered a snapshot of our mixed fermentation program at the time of each vintage's blending. Our most recent vintage, Substantially Complete 2023 uses neutral and freshly emptied red wine barrels that fermented for 1, 2, 3 & 4 years with our house-blend of microorganisms. The result is a new take on our quintessential blend; adventurous, yet balanced, with bright nectarine, wine grape, and citrus flavour highlighted by a round acidity.
This year's win follows up another gold medal win at Concours International de Lyon in 2024 for the Substantially Complete 2021 vintage!
Fruitful Pursuits: Cherry 2023 is a 100% Spontaneous Fermentation beer, refermented on Okanagan sour cherries. Inspired by world-class Belgian Lambic fruited beers, this beer has become a firm favourite.
This is the third release from our Fruitful Pursuits series to win gold at Concours International de Lyon! It scored 94 and was awarded the Best Beer in Canada trophy at this year's competition!
Fruitful Pursuits: Riesling 2022 is a Spontaneous Fermentation blend refermented on hundreds of kilograms of the highest quality Riesling grapes grown by Nathan Goltz in the Similkameen Valley and supplied by Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit. This award-winning hybrid of beer and wine showcases the complexity of Spontaneous Fermentation, while the grapes bring citrus, apple, light pepper & floral flavours, highlighted by wine-like acidity, round texture, and subtle tannin.
Fruitful Pursuits: Quince 2022 is a blend of Mixed & Spontaneous Fermentation barrels refermented on hundreds of kilograms of Quince. This unique fruit was suggested to us by Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit and has become a favourite, and adds a punchy floral, honey, and pear-like flavour and aroma. It brings exceptional texture with a full and velvety tannin structure that coats the palate, complimented by the poppy acidity and ester fruitiness of the blend.
