    A Spontaneous Fermentation blend designed specifically to be served on draught. Made with a focus on balance while still having classic flavors found in spontaneously fermented beer. Spon Alla Spina has a medium-high acidity with notes of red apple, white stone fruit, citrus and high carbonation.

    The Little Poco is a Mixed Fermentation blend that spends 24 months in Moscato Bianco barrels. The time spent in these barrels results in flavors of white wine fruitiness, citrus and floral notes, and subtle bitterness. Little Poco has a medium-light acidity with high carbonation.

    5% — Mega Rhazzle is a 1 & 2 year mixed fermentation beer fermented in stainless steel tanks with a proprietary method. It was then re-fermented on 680 kilograms of raspberries and rhubarb from Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit for 2 months. The time spent on the raspberries and rhubarb adds the intense flavours, aromas, and textures of these fruits as well as notable juicy raspberry, earthy rhubarb, and candy-like notes. This is all balanced by a medium acidity and bright high carbonation.

    Substantially Complete reflects The Monolith both as a physical entity and the beer it produces. This blend is a snapshot of our mixed fermentation program year to year, using Marsala, Red Wine and Cognac barrels of different vintages. After fermenting for 1, 2, & 3 years using a house-blend of microorganisms, the result is our quintessential blend— adventurous, yet balanced, with bright peach and citrus flavour, light oxidative and wine notes, highlighted by a medium acidity.

    Spontaneous Manifesto marks a milestone as The Monolith’s inaugural 100% Spontaneous Fermentation release. Made using historical methods developed in Belgium over generations, this blend of 1, 2 & 3 year barrels is our quintessential Spontaneous Fermentation blend. The result of these techniques is a unique product shaped by our local environment and indigenous microflora. It showcases classic stone fruit, apple and citric flavours and aromas with some bright red wine fruitiness, and subtle tannin, highlighted by a balanced acidity.

    Mon Chester is a Mixed Fermentation blend featuring the unique characteristics of Sicilian red wine barrels. The beer is fermented in these incredibly flavorful barrels for 24 months which imparts a huge amount of the bright fruity flavours from these warm weather Sicilian red wines. These flavours caught the attention of our good friend Tom Chester so much that we named the beer after him. The result is a beer with bombastic raspberry fruitiness, juicy citrus, rose water aromatics, and candy like intensity. These flavours are highlighted by a bright, tart acidity and fleeting dry finish.

    6.9% — 1, 2 Year Mixed Fermentation Blend – Collab With Slow Pour Beer Bar
    Mirror Test is a collaboration blend with our friends at Slow Pour Beer Bar to celebrate their one-year anniversary! Together we tasted and meticulously chose our favorite barrels from the Monolith cellars. This blend of 1- & 2-year Mixed Fermentation barrels focuses on classic flavours and prominent wine character from California Red Wine barrels. The result is blueberry, and citrus pith aromatic with pomelo, stone fruit and strong red wine flavours. It finishes with bright carbonation, drying tannins, and a velvety wine-like acidity.

    7.4% – This is the fifth release in the Dry Hop Series and the first that is 100% Spontaneous Fermentation. This blend of 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-year Spontaneous Fermentation barrels is dry hopped with a unique blend of hops from drastically different regions: Australian Galaxy and Czech Saaz. This hop blend brings a fun balance of tropical fruit, ripe juiciness, floral, spice, and herbaceous complexity. These flavours complement the depth of the spontaneous beer and the bright citric acidity.

    7% — Fruitful Pursuits Apricot 2023 is a blend of both Mixed & Spontaneous Fermentation barrels refermented on organic Goldbar and Goldstrike Apricots, rare varieties suggested by the team at Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit. The blend of 2, 3 & 4 year barrels spent 2 months refermenting with hundreds of kilograms of fully ripe apricots. The flavour and aroma have an apricot jam intensity highlighted by light cinnamon and marzipan character. The texture is round and coats the palate, complimented by the bright fruity acidity and stone fruit esters of the blend.

    8.7% — 1, 2, 3 Year Spontaneous Fermentation Blend – Riesling
    Fruitful Pursuits Riesling 2022 is a Spontaneous Fermentation blend refermented on fresh Riesling Grapes. We used hundreds of kilograms of the highest quality wine grapes grown by Nath Goltz in the Similkameen Valley BC and supplied by our friends Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit. The blend of 1, 2, & 3 year barrels spent 2 months in contact with the crushed whole fruit and skins where it undergoes a second fermentation. This is a true hybrid of Beer and Wine that showcases the diverse flavours of Riesling and the depth & complexity of Spontaneous Fermentation. The grapes bring citrus, apple, light pepper & floral flavours to the blend, highlighted by wine like acidity, round texture, and subtle tannin.

    Fruitful Pursuits Quince 2022 is a blend of both Mixed & Spontaneous Fermentation barrels refermented on quince. This super unique fruit was suggested to us by the team at Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit and has quickly become a favourite. The blend of 1-, 2-, & 3-year barrels spent 2 months refermenting with hundreds of kilograms of fully ripe quince. The fruit adds a punchy flavour and aroma that is intensely floral, honey, and pear-like. It brings exceptional texture with a full and velvety tannin structure that coats the palate, complimented by the poppy acidity and ester fruitiness of the blend.

    Fruitful Pursuits: Plum 2022 is a Mixed Fermentation blend refermented on freshly pickled plums. For 2022 we used 750 kilograms of Damson and President plums grown in the Okanagan and supplied by our good friends Steve & Dan’s Fresh BC Fruit. The blend of 1, 2 & 3 year barrels referments on the fruit for 2 months resulting in robust plum flavours, subtle baking spice notes, and a beautiful rose colour. This is highlighted by a balanced tart acidity and velvety plum skin tannins.

    Frucht Bombe is the fourth release in the Dry Hop Series. This blend of two-, three-, and four-year mixed fermentation barrels is dry hopped with two contemporary German hop varietals: Huell Melon and Mandarina Bavaria. These two distinct hops react to create an explosion of ripe tangerine, sharp grapefruit, and juicy melon hop character. The eruption of flavour is balanced by a full, round texture, medium acidity, and a subtle salinity.

    Biere de Charentes is a mixed fermentation blend featuring unique characteristics imparted by a 24-month fermentation in Cognac barrels. These barrels originated in the Charente region of France where Cognac is made. The result is a blend focused on the bright fruit notes of brandy, with savoury leather and saline character. It finishes with drying tannins and subtle fennel notes, highlighted by a balanced medium acidity.

    Astra Primursa is the third release in the dry hop series. This blend of 1, 2, 3, and 4 year mixed fermentation barrels is a collision of two worlds. Old world East Kent Goldings and new world Amarillo. These two wildly different hops meld delightfully to dry hop this beer. The result is juicy grapefruit, tropical star fruit, and marmalade hop character, balanced by a full, round texture and medium high acidity.

    Biere de Gascony is a mixed fermentation blend that spent 24 months in Armagnac barrels before being carefully selected for this beer. The Armagnac barrels used in this beer originated in Gascony, France. The blend displays a combination of berry fruit notes and savoury depth with elements of leather and tabacco. It has a medium acidity level and a dry finish showcasing a combination of subtle baking spice and oaky tannins.

    Sojourn in Sicily is a Mixed Fermentation blend featuring unique characteristics imparted by Sicilian Marsala barrels. The beer fermented in the Marsala barrels for 20 months before being blended. This blend is the first led by our brewer Ian “Nar” Nawrot who has been with us since the start. The result is a robust beer with subtle red berry and rose water aromatics, savory walnut and maple flavours which are amplified by a medium high acidity.

    Convergent Evolution is the true convergence of Spontaneous and Mixed Fermentation. Fermented in red wine barrels for 2,3, & 4 years this blend combines the unique characteristics of both methods. The blend of 75% Spontaneous and 25% Mixed Fermentation gives the depth and complexity of Spontaneous with the brightness and vibrance of Mixed Fermentation. The result is a balanced beer with stone fruit and ripe apple aromatics, savoury wine depth, with a bright citrus finish and medium acidity.

    5.3% — 12 Month Mixed Fermentation Blend
    86 Lagér is a barrel-fermented beer made with Lager and Brettanomyces yeasts. It’s a blend of 12 month California and Spanish Red Wine barrels and is lightly dry hopped with Saaz and Strisselspalt. While in barrel, rogue acidifying microorganisms infiltrated a couple of the barrels leading to an unexpected dimension: medium light acidity! The resulting blend has floral hop notes, balanced red wine fruitiness, bright citrus, and stone fruit aromatics. We love the result, but this acidification method has been forever 86’ed from our production playbook.

    6.0% — 14 Month Mixed Fermentation Blend – Sea Change Collaboration
    The second of two collab beers with Sea Change, both were produced using identical ingredients but different processes. This Mixed Fermentation blend was fermented in Italian Moscato Bianco and Chianti barrels for 14 months using a special blend of yeasts and bacteria. The result is bright white wine fruitiness and red wine depth with intense citrus and floral hop character. It has round texture with high acidity, and a juicy finish.

    Lil’ Broski celebrates our long relationship with The Glass Monkey, one of our favourite local restaurants. Of the many beers we’ve served there, Bro has been a particular fan favourite, so together we decided to do a summer version with a lower ABV. Notes of coffee, chocolate and roasty malt dominate this crushable beer.
