The Blind Enthusiasm Group has a number of businesses focused on brewing and the hospitality space:
- The Market brewery producing ales, lagers, and barrel-aged beers;
- The Monolith producing barrel-fermented beers inspired by traditional Belgian methods;
- Biera, an award winning restaurant situated with the Market brewery;
- The Monolith Taproom, a 27 seat taproom located in the Monolith Brewery (with a 40 seat patio).
This successful applicant for this position will be a server at The Monolith Taproom.
The Monolith, a unique brewery taproom with a delicious small menu built to pair perfectly with our beer, is looking for weekend taproom serving staff. In this role you will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional taproom experience for all of our guests. Armed with expert product knowledge, each server’s primary objective is to show our guests a personalized curated beer experience, ensuring they will want to return again and again.
Hourly Rate: starting at $16/hour + Tips (based on tip pool)
Experience: 1-2 years minimum front of house experience
Availability: We are looking for people with weekend availability. (Saturday/Sunday and some Friday evenings). Occasional weeknight shifts may be required to cover vacations or for special events.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a high level of customer service by establishing contact, greeting customers, educating customers, and promoting product offerings in detail, and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
- Be an expert on Blind Enthusiasm products, stay up to date and have a detailed knowledge of all brewery offerings and how they are produced.
- Using product expertise, sell and recommend additional suitable products to customers including beer off sales and merchandise. Detailed training will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years FOH restaurant or brewery customer focused experience
- Personable and engaging, this is a customer service focused role!
- A passion for delivering exceptional service
- A love of craft beer (or at the very least a desire to become an expert on all of our offerings!)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Effective teamwork skills
- An understanding of Alberta liquor laws
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 25+ lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for 6+ hours
