The Blind Enthusiasm Group owns and operates two standalone buildings as well as the award-winning restaurant Biera and two breweries by Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company. Our team has successfully grown and is now seeking and analytical, detail-oriented individual to join full-time as an Accounting and Operations Associate.

Overview

As a key member of the finance and operations teams, the Accounting and Operations Associate will be responsible for supporting administrative and transactional aspects of the finance and accounting team, and ensuring operational aspects of the business are input, tracked and managed effectively. The Accounting and Operations Associate will be responsible but not limited to the following:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly restaurant cash out reconciliations on a server basis and in aggregate between server cash outs, our point-of-sale systems, and our payment processor providers;
  • Inventory/cost of sales/sales invoice data entry and account reconciliations for all inventoried items including but not limited to product registrations, product creation, product movement tracking, inventory receipts, and inventory counts;
  • Date inputs, tracking and analysis of brewery operations through brewery management software, including inputting and tracking of brewery production, purchases, raw ingredients, components of finished goods and cost of sales reconciliation.
  • Ensuring operational process are reported and tracked and in compliance as per AGLC and Excise requirements
  • Coding and data entry of all accounts payable/expenses, expense reports, credit card, and accounts receivable/sales streams, including AGLC invoicing;
  • Complete bi-monthly petty cash reconciliations and account coding;
  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of bi-monthly payroll including but not limited to benefit qualification reviews and maintaining payroll files;
  • Support all day-to-day accounting functions for the building, restaurant, events space, and brewery operations;
  • Support all key stakeholders on special projects and ad hoc analysis as required;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary business/accounting education or commensurate industry experience a requirement;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong keyboarding/data entry skills

  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, collaborative and team-focused company culture.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Very effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • QuickBooks Online knowledge considered an asset
