A delicate, yet zippy ale with earthy and citrusy hop aromas followed by a crisp, dry finish and a gentle kiss of bitterness.
Extra Special Monk
Light, pale malt showcases this freshly dry-hopped ale. This ultimate version of ESM displays a robust tropical hop profile, amplified by a crisp, dry finish and surprisingly low bitterness.
This dark ale is deep brown in color, medium-bodied, with a combination of rich chocolate and subtle fruit notes. Dark chocolate blends into raisins, dried cherries, and red currants for a surprisingly dry finish.
To make this beer we jazzed-up our regular NAR by double-dry hopping it with fresh Simcoe. The result is a very unique combination of dank hoppiness with hard-candy undertones. Even with the unabashed aggressive hopping this beer still is balanced with medium bitterness over a solid malt backbone.
We’re in uncharted territory with this beer in two ways: we’ve never put beer in a can, and it’s beyond our typical hop juiciness boundary. Lots of late addition Citra creates punchy orange notes with low bitterness. Love hop aroma and flavour? This is for you.
Un Petit Peu
Un Petit Peu (Translation “A Little Bit”) is the first offering in our Dry Hop Series. This blend of one year old mixed-ferment barrels was lightly dry hopped with the French hops Mistral and Barbe Rouge. The unique hops impart red berry aroma and flavor to this bright, light acidity beer. We hope you like it.
El Dorado Reposado
What happens when we add one of our favorite hop varieties (El Dorado) to a crisp, fruity beer aged in fresh Tequila barrels for 10 months then blended with a small amount of fresh beer? You get El Dorado Reposado, an astonishing amalgam of agave, hop oils, and alpha acids. This barrel-aged beer walks an amazingly fine line between boozy tequila, patio sipper, and complex quaff. We hope you like it.
Substantially Complete reflects The Monolith both as a physical entity and the beer it produces. This is our quintessential beer—adventurous, yet balanced. Substantially Complete is fermented using a house-blend of microorganisms in French oak barrels for one year. It was bottle-conditioned for seven months. It has a medium acidity and a bold peach and citrus fruit character.
Our first barrel-aged beer from the Market brewery is a dark lager that was cool-fermented in stainless steel with Alberta blossom honey and bee pollen from Meadow-Sweet Apiaries. It was then aged for 9 months in fresh Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. The techniques and ingredients give this beer dark fruit notes, and complex salinity, with a warming finish.
Light and easy-drinking, floral with a gentle hop character, and light in colour. This lager is made for the patio weather that we're always promised.
This copper ale is made with exclusively English malts and hops. Its aroma has a hint of peat smoke over rich fruity malt. It has low bitterness, and the peat builds lowly in the flavor, with round stone fruit notes in balanced finish. This beer was made for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation for a Brewer for a Day auction. One dollar goes to the Foundation for each beer sold.
This crisp clean lager has a bright gold colour with a heavy floral aroma of honeysuckle. The low bitterness lends itself to a honey like flavour with a crisp finish. Rob’s best friend from Germany, Fabian designed this beer and helped us install our brewhouse. You’re a legend brü.
Our beer list is redesigned each season, with many favorites disappearing temporarily before reappearing the following year. You will see new beers on our list nearly every week so check back often.
