Lager O’Darkness was named best dark lager from Canada at the 2021 World Beer Awards! We’re honoured to receive this recognition, which is made possible by the hard work and skill of the brewery team at the Market brewery, led by Rob Monk. If you didn’t have to opportunity to try Lager O’Darkness this spring, here’s how the World Beer Award judge’s described it.

“Deep reddish copper and clear with a full head of off-white foam. Dark chocolate and toasted notes on the nose. Flavour is medium in intensity with delicate toasted and coffee notes. Light body and medium carbonation. Finish is very short.”

Congratulations to our friends at Cambra for claiming the best dark lager in the world! We had the opportunity to brew with them in Bavaria a few years ago, and there is now shame in being beaten by the best.

Lager O’Darkness is currently unavailable, but we’ll have it back on tap at Biera early this fall! You’ll have to come try the darkness for yourself.
